Spring Softball

MSO Recreation Spring Softball

Grades K thru 8

Online registration through January 31, 2020.  Can also register in person at Maplewood Town Hall, see Maplewood Rec.

  • Opening day April 20 through Softball Weekend on June 6-7
  • 2 games per week as follows:
    • Tball (grades k/1) - Wednesday (6 pm) /Saturday (various times)
    • Rookie (grades 2/3) - Thursday (6 pm) /Saturday (various times)
    • Junior (grades 4/5) - Monday/Friday 6 p
    • Senior (grades 6-8) - Monday/Friday 7:30 pm
  • Team assignment in early March, practices soon follow (weather permitting).  Come play with your friends, join the fun!   Spread the word!
Registration fees are $120 for the Rec Season.

Villagers Tryouts

Please note, for Villagers competitive tryouts, it is free but pre-registration is required.

10u Villagers Team- Spring/Summer

  • 10U Villagers tryouts are January 4th (10am-noon) and 11th (10am-noon), both at The Sports Academy in Millburn.
  • The 10u team is for players born in 2009 and 2010.   After the team is announced, the team will practice once a week over Feb/March (at Sports Academy).
  • The team will play in 1-2 Spring tournaments, plus 3 tournaments and league play over the Summer.
  • The season will wrap up around end of July.

12u Villagers Team- Spring/Summer

  • 12U Villagers tryouts are January 4th (8-10am) and 11th (8-10am), both at The Sports Academy in Millburn.
  • The 12u team is for players born in 2007 and 2008.   After the team is announced, the team will practice once a week over Feb/March (at Sports Academy).
  • The team will play in 1-2 Spring tournaments, plus 3 tournaments and league play over the Summer.
  • The season will wrap up around end of July.

Suburban Team- Spring

  • Suburban tryouts are January 18th (10am-noon) and 25th (10am-noon), both at The Sports Academy in Millburn.
  • The Suburban team is open to 6th through 8th grade players.
  • After the team is announced, the team will practice once a week over Feb/March (at Sports Academy*). Some team hitting practices may also be added for the Baird cages.
  • The goal is to ramp up the focus and intensity of their softball training with an eye on preparation for high school.
  • In addition to the suburban league play, the team will play in 1-2 Spring tournaments. This team will wrap up around May 15.
  • Depending on the number of registrations, MSO may fill multiple teams.
